“What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us. The history of mankind will probably show that no people has ever risen above its religion, and man’s spiritual history will positively demonstrate that no religion has ever been greater than its idea of God.” - A. W. Tozer.
This well-known statement from Tozer has proven itself true time and time again. Terrorists believe their god wants them to kill others not in their faith so they fly planes into buildings. Far eastern monks believe that by starving themselves to death they will break their cycle of karma and enter into a state of bliss with their god where they become part of 'it'. And Christians say they want an intimate relationship with God, but most have never undertaken a study to understand God's nature and attributes. Without that knowledge - the knowledge of the Holy - it's impossible to have such a relationship.
“By ‘attribute’ is meant some characteristic that can be attributed to God’s nature – an essential trait of God.”- Norman Geisler. Why study the attributes of God? This presentation answers that question and describes the reasons why it's so critical that Christians have a deep understaning of God's nature and how it effects their worship and everyday life.
God's Self-Existence and Eternality
“"Who created God?" is a question that's asked by a lot of children, but even sophisticated skeptics and atheists try and pose this question to defeat the idea of God. The fact is God is eternal and self-existent; He is pure existence and is transcendent over time. This presentation examines these attributes of God both Biblically and philosophically, and gives rational explanations as to why they are true.
